Before I left completely, I also went through several years where I added weight sessions and stationary bike classes (before they were popular I might add!). Due to family obligations, budget and yes, even health issues (somehow, rheumatoid arthritis arrived at my doorstep) I had to give up paying for classes and gym memberships. However, that in no way meant I had to give up exercise! I formed my own 20 minute strengthening program. I combined movements from dance class and physical therapy sessions which worked all parts of my body. But that wasn't all. I replaced my love of leotards and tights and traded them in for walking shoes and some cute sweats and hit the streets first with a German Shepard mix with big brown eyes, then a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix with the same big pleading orbs. When weather doesn't permit, I have a treadmill right next to this computer. We have all heard about the importance of cardio exercises.
