The Business of Water and Droughts
Water is big business? No, it is a huge business. The business of water and droughts is alive and well. Currently we see pipeline for water being build, retention basins, damns, Desalination Plants and water rights being bought up by billionaires. In my professional life, I was involved with the car washing industry and we always kept up on droughts, water restrictions and water supplies. I can remember not to long ago when California car washes battled consumer backlash to price increases of up to five dollars by Oct. of 2000, due to water. Soon everyone was worried that water rationing might cause another tripling affect if increased water prices occurred.mployees who have an "attitude." Fred, the new manager, was working with Grant, an employee who wasn't getting his work done. Fred had delegated work to Grant, and Grant hadn't made progress on the project for almost 4 months . . . long past the due date.

For the most part, Fred had done well with the first two steps of delegation and checking. He just wasn't acting on Grant's lack of performance.

The key point in the process that determines if Fred needs to have a coaching or counseling session with Grant is when Fred asks if Grant needs anything from Fred to make the project happen now. If Grant says anything but nothing, then Fred had coaching work to do. If Grant replies that there's nothing he needs from Fred, time for a counseling conversation.

Coaching is needed when an employee can't do the work he needs to do. Counseling is needed when an employee won't do the work he is assigned.

Typical situations where counseling is needed include ongoing poor performance, an insecure employee who is skilled, but doesn't do as well as could be expected, an employee who is allowing personal problems to adversely impact performance, or employees who have an "attitude." They feel angry, frustrated, vindictive, unappreciated or unrewarded, and they get back at the company by choosing not to work.

Document Security – Not Just Paper Shredding
What is document security? Why is document security important to me? What are the best methods my company can use to enhance document security? Is it expensive to do? Company Up and Running Just 2 Hours After Major Fire
You might think that something as major as a building fire could put a serious dent in the productivity of any office, to put it mildly. Destruction of property equipment, furniture and files are almost certain. How much in terms of assets would be lost and for how long? What about the company’s mission critical data? Could it ever be replaced? Computers (especially the magnetic disks contained within a modern hard disk drive) are very sensitive to heat and critical data is likely to be irretrievable from a machine that has been melted by the high temperatures of a building fire.So just how can a headline like the one in this article be plausible? Business Needs Full Knowledge And Capability
Everyone needs some work for proper survival. Some are doing jobs in private or public companies and some people are doing their own business. There are different kings of businesses like poultry business, dairy business, small-scale industry, private shops, restaurants etc. A business needs full knowledge and you can go for such field in which field you have complete knowledge. Without skills you are not able to do a business. In simple, business means profit-making organization. It is concerned with the sale of different goods and services to satisfy the demand of customers. You could start your own business or purchase an existing one. You could also be

Industrial Lubricants – The Importance of Lubrication in Industry
Most of us use types of industrial lubricants regularly - if you apply some oil to a squeaky hinge, you are using a lubricant. Of course, many industrial uses of lubricants are much more complex than that; many industries can use a large amount of lubricants on a regular basis. There are several different types of lubricants that are typically used in industry, although the basic purpose of the product is the same – to ensure that moving parts operate more smoothly and to reduce friction. Using the right lubricant can reduce the need for unscheduled maintenance; help to prolong the life of machine components – and ultimately save money.Industrial lu

Like with performance problems that require coaching, sometimes Rule #1 is at work. Managers have inadvertently "rewarded" employees into non-performance. The manager has allowed employees to "get away with" not performing, and the employee finds not working more rewarding than working. Sometimes doing the work is punishing or not rewarding: there's nothing in it for an employee to do a good job. Or, an employee may not have the authority to get the job done, or is expected to buck policy or the way it's always been done. Or, worst of all, good performance or bad performance, it just doesn't matter. No one seems to notice.

If any of these are true, time for a little rehab program for the manager, and even more work to bring the employee's behavior into line.

Fred has made the problem of Grant's poor performance worse by letting him "get away with" not getting his work done. Now he has catch up work to do.

Step one: Prepare for the conversation. If Grant suggests there's nothing Fred can do to help him get the work done, then it's clear one of two problems is going on: Grant either doesn't know how to do it and won't say he doesn't know; or Grant doesn't want to do it and has some belief he doesn't have to. Either of these means tim
