The Education Loan: Is It Worth The Cost? You cannot ignore the fact that the cost of a college education has soared through the roof. This threatens to make a higher education for pursuing a dream career an impossible task. Therefore, students and their parents are compelled to opt for education loans.Student loans have become a part of life. This is no wonder, considering the facts and figures that clarify the earning potential of college graduates. There has been a series of nationwide surveys on student loans and their implications. The fact is that each college graduate ended up earning $1 million (according to the United States Census Bureau) more throughout his/her career than a high school graduate. The AdvantagesMany people are confused as to whether they will be ever able to repay their loans completely, given the high rates of interest on various student loans. However, the advantages of taking out a student loan may far outweigh the costs:1. College educated people advance higher and faster in their careers.2. The average earnings of the college educated are $2.1 million and this figure is $1.2 million for high school graduates. Still, considering one takes out a Federal Perkins Loan (cu ly: 'MS Mincho'"> bunch" I don't think that they were responsible for getting high quality production results from their bunch. How to Add Humor to Your WorkplaceAfter the seventh snowstorm in seven weeks, people in Denver, Colorado, are beginning to feel that Mother Nature must have been looking for Buffalo or Minneapolis but got lost. Folks here just aren't used to having three feet of snow piled up on their yards, driveways and streets for almost two solid months. Even kids, who usually greet each snowflake with glee, now look at the leftover piles of mush with something akin to disgust. "Is spring ever going to come back?" one despondent ten year old was heard lamenting. (It was easy to hear her; she's my daughter.)The reason for Denver's collective unhappiness is that the city traditionally enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year. During the winter months, snow will make an appearance for one day, leave perhaps four or six inches of white, enough to make everything look beautiful, then it will gracefully depart, like the perfect houseguest who never overstays her welcome. The sun returns the next morning and immediately commences housekeeping; the snow is gone from the streets and sidewalks by noon.
Not this year. And as a result, Denverites are having difficulty keeping their morale from melting away just like the icicles are supposed One Bad Apple

Would you be willing to pay 10% of the revenue they generate? 20%? 50%? Or do you believe that you can't afford to pay anything?During a recent discussion, I was surprised that people said they could not afford to 'give up' 20% in commissions to reach new customers. If you have more work than you can handle, that makes sense. However, most of the people who take this position do so because they think it is 'not fair' that someone else get a percentage of the money they believe is theirs. My question is: Would you rather have 100% of nothing, or a smaller percentage of something?I have taught courses at several places where my compensation was a revenue share. Typically, I received 50% or less–often much less–of the fees the students paid. Many instructors think this is unfair. After all, if they are presenting the course, shouldn’t they get the bulk of the money paid by students?Break down what is actually involved in making the course happen, and it all makes more sense. But, that's not the right equation when counting work experience. We often think we're building experience to help us get ahead. In reality, we're passing time. Ten years working like a cloned Bill Murray in Groundhog Day is not ten years worth of experience. Doing the same thing again and again yields an experience formula more like: ten times one equals one.
I used to equate years of work with years of experience. No more. I learned by making plenty of hiring and promotion mistakes in twenty years of management the two are not equal. Neither are years of work and performance. Doing something for five, ten or twenty years doesn't make you automatically five, ten or twenty years better than when you started. I've been cooking for thirty years but I remain a mediocre cook.

As a former preschool teacher, I have always enjoyed children, and naturally, my favourite dolls to create were child dolls. Fast forward several years, having been married for 5 years, my husband and I were expecting our first child. The excitement was almost more than I could handle! Well, suffice to say the delivery was nothing short of traumatic…but worth every moment when I held that tiny baby and looked into those barely opened little eyes. It was love at first sight. It was not long after that point that the thought of returning to work and giving 100% of myself to the children of others, became too much to bear. So I decided to leave my full time teaching position, my 12 years of seniority, my 4 weeks paid vacation, my security and stability, not to mention other benefits and perks; and follow my ever-present dream of owning my own business. Once outside of my comfort zone, there was no looking back.It began with custom hand painted children’s furniture, which seemed to merge two of my favourite pastimes quite nicely. The "one bad apple" that I'm referring to of course, is that one bad employee in your department who drags everyone down with them. I'm not talking about the employee who is temporarily struggling with their productivity. A lot of employees go through that problem from time to time. With training and coaching, these
are potentially very productive employees. And I'm not talking about that the employee who is going through some personal problems and is stru
