    Self sabotaging behaviors occur in many areas of one's daily life.

    They include things like:

    1. Over eating.

    2. Excessive alcohol and drug use.

    3. Dishonesty with one's partner, friends and family.

    4. Forgetfulness.

    5. Impulsive behaviors.

    6. Self Doubt.

    7. Hesitation.

    8. Angry or aggressive behaviors.

    9. Not stopping to be an effective listener.

    10. Being too self absorbed.

    11. Not stopping to think and reflect before acting.

    12. Relying on old negative programmed behaviors assuming that they will work.

    And so on.

    At the end of the day all of these only lead you to regret having made such choices.

    Unfortunately any individuals feel unable to break these old programmed habits and feel imprisoned by them. This only leaves them feeling helpless, inadequate, powerless and generally bad about themselves. It is this last feeling that stokes the fire of all self sabotaging behaviors.

    How can one free one’s self from this negative spiral?

    Well the solution is related to my last point which also lies at the root of such negative habits: "feeling bad about one's self".

    Where does this start and what can be done about it?

    Well it begins in all the negative childhood experiences that one has stored away in one's mind and body and which secretly and effectively repeatedly reinforce why "you" are a "bad person". For instance do you remember ever being punished for something you did as a child? Do you remember ever having had a bad experience "like the divorce of your parents" for instance, that couldn't explain to yourself but went on to assume that somehow you were the cause of?
